Friday – March 17th – Jude 1:4     -----

1:4) For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
NO ONE SO THOROUGHLY APPRECIATES THE VALUE OF CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM AS THE ONE WHO IS GIVING IT.*

Welcome to Friday! Today’s inspirational thought brought a chuckle, and then a smile to my face. Yes, it is easy to say we want constructive criticism, but it is not always easy to receive it with grace. Many times asking for constructive criticism is a code for tell me nice things. Yet, when a person is honest about how they feel, it might rub us the wrong way and our natural human tendency is to defend ourselves and/or our actions. The Bible is filled with God’s “constructive criticism” of how we should live as one who has committed our life to be a follower of Jesus. Sometimes we read things we like, other times we read things that challenge us into change, and there are even times we read things that we disagree with. Before we can be good recipients of constructive criticism from others, we must learn to let God lead us in the paths of His righteousness, because His ways are always perfect.

In our pick verse today, Jude concludes both the general introduction and his purpose for this letter. The struggle to hear and accept God’s truth is unavoidable, yet even necessary at times to help sharpen our understanding of God’s promises. In Jude’s day there were unworthy people who had crept into the life of the congregation unnoticed by the believers. Fear not because long ago, God marked  these immoral false teachers for condemnation because of their evil ways. Although they seem to continue unhindered, their judgment has already been set by God. In this verse Jude used the word “lewdness” to mean lustful, immoral sensuality and debauchery as being actions of these false teachers. All such conduct is a flat-out denial of the lordship of Jesus Christ.
