Saturday – April 15th – Revelation 1:14 -----
1:14) His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire;
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
NEVER TRY TO MAKE YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER ANOTHER YOU; ONE IS ENOUGH.*
Welcome to Saturday and the middle day of the month of April. Tomorrow, we begin a new series at SunRise called “The Absolute Incredibles”. And just like the name indicates it will be an absolutely incredible look at the foundational and non-negotiable beliefs of the Christian faith. Have you ever wondered just what do we believe as Christians? What parts of the faith have reminded true and unchanging since the day of creation and/or the birth of Jesus? What foundational pieces of our faith are not to be adjusted to fit our own unique motives or situations? Yes, we should always explore, wrestle with, and examine every part of the Christian belief system, but always within the context of how I must change in order to accept God’s word, God’s will, God’s way, and God’s when for my life. Join us in-building at 8am and 9:45am, or live-stream at 9:45am. On-demand options are available following the conclusion of the 9:45am service.
In our pick verse, John continues to describe in detail the appearance of Jesus before him. In these verses John is establishing for his readers the authority and divine power of the one from whom he receives these words of instruction for the seven churches. In this verse Johns speaks to the white hair and Jesus’ eyes with flames of fire. White hair is used in biblical writings as a sign of authority. Reflective of Daniel’s vision (Daniel 7:9), this was a common description for the one who sat on the throne of the most high. The flaming eyes reveal that nothing is hidden from Jesus. One of the omni-ness attributes of God is that He is all knowing, always having full knowledge even of those things we think are well hidden.
Blessings
