Wednesday – May 17th – Revelation 3:4-5      ------
3:4) You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.
5) He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:

Welcome to Wednesday! Our inspirational thought is one of those, that if I were smart, I would leave without comment. But…, no one would argue very long about me being one of the smarter kids in my class, so here goes. The price of advice is often in direct correlation to the level of experience of the sender. In our “google” everything world we each can become an expert on any subject matter we so choose. A ten-minute search on Wikipedia can make us as brilliant as a ten-year medical degree. In the Daily Walk Bible, Job’s friends were quick to bring their untested opinions and then try to pass them off as expert advice. This inspirational thought is a great reminder for me to curb my enthusiasm when it comes to sharing my perspective on things in which I am not well trained.

In our pick verses today, Jesus is quick to point out that within the dead church at Sardis are a handful of believers who have chosen to remain faithful followers. The Old Testament prophet Jeremiah, during the fall of Jerusalem, spoke of “the remnant” as those who were attempting to remain faithful in a society that was walking away from God. Sardis had a few people who had remained unstained by the culture around them and who, as a result, would walk with Christ in white robes. At the end of the ages these faithful souls would be acknowledged by Jesus before the throne of the Father in Heaven. We too can be assured of our eternal presence in Heaven when our name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
