Wednesday – May 31st – Revelation 3:19     -----

3:19) As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
PRAY FOR A FAITH THAT WILL NOT SHRINK WHEN WASHED IN THE WATERS OF AFFLICTION.*

Welcome to Wednesday! I realized over the last couple of days that I am faced with somewhat of a dilemma. Over the past few years I have included in this blog the inspirational thought from the Daily Walk Bible program that guides us reading through the Bible in a year. What I can’t remember when I post the inspirational thought, is if I commented on it in previous years, and if I did, what did I say. Of course, the chances might be in my favor that if I can’t remember then maybe you won’t remember either. Today’s inspirational thought certainly qualifies as a great encouragement, repeated or not. Times of testing will come in our lives, we will not know when, but when they do may our faith be strong enough to lean into and trust God for the outcome.

In our pick verse today, Jesus gives the believers in Laodicea the only option to pursue if they want to receive the riches of Heaven. To a church that received no commendation from Jesus, there is instead a straightforward call to individual repentance. God’s love will always seek to bring both the wavering and the unfaithful person back to Himself through divine rebuke and chastening. Our greatest challenge today is recognizing that our thoughts, words, or actions might indeed be rebellious to the plans of God. The second greatest challenge we face today is after acknowledging our sinfulness, is to then take steps to repent and return to God’s way for our lives. The words of Jesus in this verse should be committed to our daily memory – “Therefore be zealous and repent”.

Blessings
