Sunday – June 4th – Break for Mission Trip -----

Hey Sunday blog friends. Just a quick note today to let you know that I am leaving on Monday morning for a mission trip to Eastern Kentucky. A team of sixteen SunRise folks are heading to Letcher, Kentucky in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. This area was devastated by flooding last July that covered hundreds of miles in eastern Kentucky. Because the area in which we will be serving and staying is well off the beaten path, internet and cell service is spotty and/or occasional at best. So, my friends, the daily blog will take a mission trip break and will resume on Sunday June 11th. During this break I would encourage you to look back over past blogs as a way to stay connected to the word of God.
The mission trip break is also a perfect time to take a pause between chapters three and four in Revelation. These chapters mark the transition from Jesus’ letters for the seven churches to John’s visions of future events in Heaven. Many biblical scholars (me included) believe the interlude between chapters three and four also marks the time in which the rapture of believers will occur. We have some exciting verses to read as we start this next part of our journey through the scriptures. See you all next Sunday.
