Wednesday – July 12th – Revelation 6:15 -----
6:15) Then everyone—the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the wealthy, the powerful, and every slave and free person—all hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
NOTHING IN THIS LOST WORLD BEARS THE IMPRINT OF THE SON OF GOD SO SURELY AS FORGIVENESS.*
Welcome Wednesday! What are you excited about welcoming on this Wednesday in July? Our inspirational thought today gives us a deeper understanding to the true nature of God. While we may hear all kinds of things we ought to do as a representative of the Kingdom of Heaven, the number one thing on the top of the list is to model the forgiveness we have personally received through Jesus. We all have things on our resume that have created breaks in relationships or have fostered misunderstandings or have been interpreted through our own perspective. Anyone of those can lead to the need to show forgiveness on our part. Who do we need to forgive in our hearts today?
In our pick verse today, we are shown what the effects of the calamity caused by the opening of the sixth seal brings to those who sit in seats of human power. Our human obsession with fame, fortune, power, and prestige will amount to nothing when the day of the Lord arrives. For the rich and famous their status will provide no protection from the events unfolding before them. Just like death does now, this moment services as the great equalizer where the only thing that will matter is the nature of a relationship with Jesus. The fear of each person will drive them to attempt to hide from what they see coming. This end of the world hiding scene is reminiscent of Adam and Eve’s attempt to hide from God in the garden of Eden. As we well know, there is no hiding from God. We should give up on our feeble attempts and give into the power of God.
Blessings
