Thursday – July 20th – Revelation 7:13-14 -----
7:13) Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?"
14) And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
YOU CANNOT HAVE A HOLY COUNTRY UNTIL YOU FIRST HAVE HOLY CITIZENS.*
Welcome to Thursday! Today’s inspirational thought is one that is filled with just plain old common sense. This statement can also be applied to every part of our lives. Without a focus on a Holy God, we will always fall far short and directly into the traps of the evil one. Today’s inspirational thought is associated with the Old Testament book of Isaiah, wherein the prophet is sternly reminding folks that when you stray from God’s plan, no matter how justifiable in our minds, you are inviting discipline and eventually disaster. The story of both the north and south kingdoms are more than history, they are God’s warning to all future generations of what will happen when we become friends with sin.
In our pick verses today, John engages in conversation with one of the elders in the heavenly realm. The elder asked John if he knew who the white robed souls were. John’s reply was that didn’t but was certain the elder knew and he would share their identity. These white robed souls have been saved through their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus. The great tribulation was the final time of fury preceding the day of God’s last judgement. Prior to this time there exists season of lesser tribulation, which is a normal experience of all Christians at some point in their life. We have been encouraged by God to not be shaken by these times of trials, but to trust in His power and protection.
Blessings
