Thursday – August 24th – Revelation 10:3-4 -----
10:3) and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices.
4) Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them."
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
MANY PROBLEMS, LIKE STORMS, NEVER ARRIVE IN SPITE OF THREATENING SKIES.*
Welcome to Thursday. Our inspirational thought for today is spot on when considering my own personal experiences. I couldn’t begin to count the times when I have worried and fretted over something that “might” happen. I have lost sleep, skipped meals, and even became distracted during conversations because I was trying to think through the still unknown. And when it is all said and done 99.9% of the things I have worried about, never happened. I know this, but when the next “maybe” opportunity comes along, I too easily fall back into the pit of worrying over what “might” happen, and the cycle is repeated. Enjoy the clouds and trust that God is in control.
In our pick verses today, John continues to describe this new part of his end-times vision. The voice of the roaring lion accompanied by thunders is nothing less than the awesome voice of God speaking so that His perfect plan moves forward towards its ultimate conclusion. Biblical scholars are uncertain as to the exact implications arising from the “seven thunders” because John was forbidden to write this as part of his vision. This command to not write all the things John experienced is a powerful reminder that the Bible does not disclose all the predictions about the end of the world that God revealed to John or other individuals. We do, however, still have ample teaching in scripture concerning the end time events for us to adequately prepare our lives for that moment. Nothing necessary for our salvation was left out of God’s Holy Word. The Bible was, is, and will always be fully sufficient for salvation and life eternal in Heaven.
Blessings
