Tuesday – September 12th – Revelation 11:16-17 -----
11:16) And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God,
17) saying: "We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
HATING OTHERS IS LIKE BURNING DOWN YOUR HOUSE TO GET RID OF A RAT.*
Hello Tuesday! Hope your week is off to a great start. Our inspirational thought for today is very timely for me this week. I have made the commitment to be positive in all my conversations and all my thoughts. I have noticed recently that our society is trending toward the negative. Our individual attitudes play a huge part in how we see the events in our life as well as how we attempt to deal with those events. At the top of many lists of reasons is our dislike of people who are not like us. I have also discovered that many people have trouble even liking themselves which then creates an even deeper negative attitude. I would suggest that to get rid of the “rat” in your life, first begin by changing your attitude toward the rat.
In our pick verses for today, John now turns his attention back to the twenty-four elders who sit around the throne of God in Heaven. In these verses they solemnly offer praise for the great act of final judgement that God and the Lamb are about to complete. This is the longest of the three praises by the twenty-four elders as recorded by John. These combined voices raise up the power and reign of God as everlasting and without end. Their praise of thanksgiving shows the contrast of perspectives when it comes to God’s act of final discipline and judgement. For the heavenly hosts this is the beginning of the concluding movement of God to bring perfect peace and love to all believers. For those who still resist God these actions, this is the beginning of their death, destruction, and permanent separation for all that is good. Tomorrow’s verse will complete these comparative perspectives.
Blessings
