Happy Thursday to you as we begin this second half of November and are setting just one week away from Thanksgiving. If there ever is a lull in the activities at SunRise it may well be the next two weeks. The Journey Bible Study along with the Wednesday night Seeds programing is on seasonal break until January 10th. The beginning of the Advent season has a later than normal start this year on Sunday December 3rd. Advertising for all the December events is still a week or two off. So, my thought is that the best use of my/our time is to spend a few extra minutes each day reading scripture where we can expand our knowledge and extend our service.
In our pick verse today, John watches as the first angel leaves the throne room of Heaven with the first of God’s bowls of wrath. Each of the seven bowl judgements begins with John noting where the contents were specifically directed. The first bowl splashed on the land, just as the sounding of the first judgement trumpet had struck a third of the earth and its vegetation. There is not a better verse to remind us of the interconnectedness of humanity with the earth’s vegetation. The corresponding result of the impact on the land was the appearance of painful and ugly sores on the people. This and all bowl judgments come only on those who had the mark of the beast, those who were followers of the Antichrist.
