Monday – November 20th – Revelation 16:6     -----

16:6) For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, And You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due."

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GOD’S GIFT TO YOU IS OFTEN GOD’S GIFT TO OTHERS THROUGH YOU.*

Welcome to Monday! As we are entering the season of gift giving, today’s inspirational thought seems well timed. God has given to each of us abundantly from the riches of Heaven. We have the gift of Jesus as our savior, we have the gift of grace that comes through the forgiveness of our sins, and we have the gift of eternal life in Heaven that comes from Jesus’ victory over sin and the grave. While we are more than accustomed in our culture to joyfully accepting gifts and then enjoying them for ourselves, the joy of giving is sharing what we have received with others. How sad would be the seasons of thanksgiving and Christmas without the opportunity for us to bless others in the way God has blessed us.

In our pick verse today, John continues recording the commentary from the angel who poured out his bowl of wrath on the water. The irony of this plague is that it calls to notice the violent deaths of the righteous martyrs at the hands of the wicked throughout history, beginning with Abel. For those who persecuted the righteous, who sought to silence them by spilling their blood, they now have only blood to drink. In the words of Hosea, the Old Testament prophet, “they sowed the wind and now have reaped the whirlwind.” There is no escaping from or hiding our sins for the watchful eye of the Lord.
