Happy Saturday to you! This is the last weekend in November which means 2023 is quickly moving to a close. Sadly, I have just grown accustomed to writing 2023 on my checks, and now it is almost time to transition to 2024. On Sunday we close out the final installment of our current series “Don’t Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table”. Our focus this week is on the “why” God would even consider setting a beautiful banquet for us in the presence of our enemies. Short answer is that our enemies are ever present in our lives, and only through God’s power and protection are we able to function day in and day out. For the long version answer, join us at either 8am or 9:45am in-building or at 9:45am or after on-line.
In our pick verse today, John concludes his recording of the vision associated with the pouring out of the fifth bowl of wrath. Directed to the throne of the beast who rules the earth, this condemnation from God blacked out its entire kingdom reach. In the midst of the agonizing and painful results of the God imposed darkness, these followers of Satan, complete with the mark of the beast, still openly cursed God while refusing to even consider repenting of their growing list of sins. The pouring out of these seven judgments was also intended to allow God’s enemies to come to Him through repentance. But like Pharaoh, they continued to refuse God’s offer of grace no matter how awful things became.
