Thursday – December 14th – Revelation 17:8      -----

17:8) The beast you saw was once alive but isn’t now. And yet he will soon come up out of the bottomless pit and go to eternal destruction. And the people who belong to this world, whose names were not written in the Book of Life before the world was made, will be amazed at the reappearance of this beast who had died.

FAITH IS THE DARING OF THE SOUL TO GO FARTHER THAN IT CAN SEE.*

Happy Thursday to you! It is not too late to make last minute plans to join the SunRise Family Ministry team for Pajama Party and Movie Night on Friday December 15th. The fun begins at 5:30pm with activities to include a Christmas craft, pictures with Santa, popcorn and juice box refreshments and watching the movie “The Star”. This event is free and open to all ages. Please go to the SunRise events page through either the webpage or app to sign up for a great time.

In today’s pick verse, the angel accompanying John on this portion of the vision continues to explain the great monster’s role in this end time drama. Before a detailed explanation of the monster is given, the angel notes in this extra-long verse this seemingly circular phrase, “once was, now is not, but will soon be”. This description is the devil’s attempt to obviously mock and mimic God as being the one who is, and who was, and who is to come. Second, the interpretation here is the same as the first appearance of the Antichrist monster in chapter 13. The angel interprets this final appearance of the Antichrist as one with a Christlike resurrection. Third, the diabolical source of the Antichrist’s power is noted in that he rose from the bottomless pit, also known as the abode of demons. Yet, despite his miraculous resurrection and powerful deeds, this final Antichrist is destined for eternal destruction.
