17:12) The ten horns of the beast are ten kings who have not yet risen to power. They will be appointed to their kingdoms for one brief moment to reign with the beast.

CHRISTMAS IS THE SEASON TO FOCUS ON THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL.*
Happy Monday! Yes, probably the last week before Christmas each day should be introduced as “happy”. Our inspirational thought for today reminds us that the season of gift-giving centers around one gift and one gift only – God’s gift of Jesus. I have long ago discovered the importance of keeping the cradle of Christmas connected to the cross of Calvary. The swaddled child only has meaning to us when He is seen as the suffering savior. We have long heard the slogan not to take Christ out of Christmas, but I want to challenge you to not take Easter out of Christmas. God’s gift was, and still is, eternal life in Heaven for those who accept Jesus as their savior. Please be praying this week for those who haven’t yet made the connection to the ultimate part of this gift from God.
In our pick verse today, John’s angel guide continues to explain the bizarre scene before them. The Antichrist monster will find support from ten kings (represented by the ten horns) who have not yet received their kingdoms. Again, attempts to identify these yet to be kingdoms are sheer speculation and their potential identification may change with each successive generation of history. We should probably stand on the thought that the number ten, symbolizing completeness, represents the equivalent to being all the kings of the world. This unprecedented coalition of military forces is destined too also be short-lived as equated to the forty-two months of the final terrible persecution, the time frame referenced in earlier chapters of John’s vision.
