Hello Thursday! Calling all Missouri and Ohio State fans. SunRise is hosting a Cotton Bowl watch party on Friday December 29th with doors open at 6pm for the 7pm kick-off. Wear your teams gear, bring your favorite snacks, your comfy football watching chair, and watch the game on the big screens in the worship space. What a great way to spend a friendly Friday night cheering on your team.
In our pick verse today, John’s angel guide now shifts his full attention from the beast to the wicked prostitute where she was sitting on the waters with the role of ruling the people. Her position of sitting on the water serves as a representation of her control over every remaining multitude, nation, and language of the earth, thus an appropriate seat for her. As I read these verses, I am reminded of how easily human loyalty can be blown back and forth by popular opinions and charismatic leaders. We should always be cautious about what we hear and always quick to check it against the Word of God.
