Tuesday – December 26th – Revelation 18:1     -----

18:1) After all this I saw another angel come down from heaven with great authority, and the earth grew bright with his splendor.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
PRAYER IS LISTENING FOR WHAT GOD MIGHT WANT TO SAY TO YOU.*

Hello Tuesday! Hope you had a blessed Christmas Day, and hope you were able to spread some well wishes to others. Our inspirational thought for today gets us right back into the swing of focusing on our spiritual walk. When you think of prayer do you view it more as you talking to God or more of you listening to God? If you were to assign a percentage to how much you lead the prayer conversation and how much God does the leading what would those numbers look like? 50/50, 75% talking – 25% listening, the other way around, or somewhere in between? For some of us the more we talk to God the less we have to listen to what God might be calling us to do or say. When I get to Heaven, I don’t want to be recognized at the pearly gates as the one who didn’t let God get a word in edgeways. Something to think about as we finish this last week of 2023.

In our pick verse today, we continue our journey into chapter eighteen and the next part of John’s end of the world revelation. Apparently still stationed in the desert, John has a new angel appear to him as it descends from Heaven. This particular angel is noted as having great authority. The sense is that God had directly authorized the angel’s announcement of the declaration of final doom. This angel’s appearance is so shinning that the entire earth was illuminated by his splendor, much like the angel of the Lord who appeared to the shepherds announcing the birth of Jesus. It would be fitting if God sent the same angel that welcomed in the savior to now announce doom to those who reject the savior.

Blessings
