Wednesday – January 3rd – Revelation 18:7 -----
18:7) She glorified herself and lived in luxury, so match it now with torment and sorrow. She boasted in her heart, ‘I am queen on my throne. I am no helpless widow, and I have no reason to mourn.’
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GOD MAY NOT PROMISE A COMFORTABLE JOURNEY, BUT HE DOES GUARANTEE A SAFE LANDING.*
Welcome to Wednesday. Our inspirational thought fits perfectly for the third day of a new year. We would all agree that knowing what comes in the future – a second from now or a month from now - is not something we can control. However, this inspirational thought reminds us that God is with us through it all. We may experience bumps, bruises, and a few in-fight turbulences, but God is the one who will keep us protected through whatever trials we face. Our attitude in and through times of trials will either help us to grow in our faith or question or faith. Hold on for what 2024 brings and may you grow to be the best disciple you have ever been.
Daily Walk Bible readings:
Wednesday January 3rd – Genesis 6-9
Thursday January 4th – Genesis 10-11
In our pick verse today, John is recording the words of condemnation brought against the wicked Babylon, which represents the unrepented sins of human civilization. Both yesterday’s verse and today’s stands on the famous biblical law of God’s justice, “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth”. Babylon only receives what her actions deserve. The arrogant self-sufficiency of Babylon is on full display in our reading today. Every moral teaching, in some fashion, abhors the sin of pride. We are reminded from the Old Testament wisdom that pride goes before the fall. May we work on our humility and our acknowledgement that we must submit ourselves to the one who created us.
Blessings

Thursday – January 4th – Revelation 18:8
