Happy Tuesday! Wow there are so many things coming up at SunRise over the next few weeks that I am beyond excited to share all of them with you. Frist up is another reminder that our Upward Soccer program is currently registering kids from kindergarten through sixth grade for our spring season. Registrations will happen throughout the month of February with evaluations scheduled for Saturday and Sunday March 2nd and 3rd and games scheduled to begin on Saturday March 23rd. You can go to the SunRise events page on either the website or app to get more information and to register.

In our pick verse today, John’s eyes are fully focused on the rider on the white horse as He leaves the gates of Heaven to go to war with the forces of evil. One of the more memorable themes of Revelation is that many of the characters are stamped with a mark or symbolic name. There are the 144,000, there are those marked with the number 666, the great beast and the prostitute both bore blasphemous names upon their bodies. By contrast, the rider’s name is on His robe and on His thigh. Most important in this scene is the title given to the rider – “King of kings and Lord of lords”. This is the only place in scripture that these two titles are joined together and appear in this order. Jesus is designated as being the King over all of earth’s kings, and the Lord over all other lords. This will soon be fully demonstrated beyond question in His ultimate victory over the kings of the earth.
