Thursday – February 8th – Revelation 19:18     ------

19:18) that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great."

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
JESUS KNOWS WE MUST COME APART AND REST AWHILE OR ELSE WE MAY JUST PLAIN COME APART.*

Welcome to Thursday! Next Wednesday begins the official church season of Lent. Yes, it is an earlier than normal kick off to the journey to Easter Sunday. SunRise is offering two opportunities to mark the beginning of this season. Anytime from 7am to 8am you can drop in to the worship space and receive ashes. Then at 7pm join us for an Ash Wednesday Worship service with a time of song, prayers, and ashes. For those unable to attend in person we will live-stream the evening service beginning at 7pm.

In our pick verse today, John continues to record the words of his current angel guide regarding the calling of the earth’s birds to this final feast on God’s enemies. While the Bible contains several instances of God’s wrath falling upon rebellious disbelievers, nowhere else is there such a gory picture as the birds gather to devour the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty men of earth. Today’s scene brings together many of the passages we have read in previous chapters. Earlier, a third of humanity had suffered death by plague (9:8), perhaps millions more had perished with the outpouring of the first four bowls of wrath (16:1-9). Now the surviving members of the human race have an unavoidable date with death. The text is very clear that “all people” remaining on earth will face inescapable doom.

Blessings
