Tuesday – February 27th – Revelation 20:5     -----
20:5) This is the first resurrection. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years had ended.)
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:

Hello Tuesday! Are you looking for great activities to fill your summer calendar. Then look no further than the SunRise Adult Mission Trip to Eastern Kentucky Monday June 24th – Saturday June 29th. Travel with your SunRise family to Jackson, Ky to be part of making a difference in people’s lives – theirs and yours. We will have the opportunity to work with local children ministries, engage in service projects and community outreach, visit homes and nursing homes, and possibly do some light maintenance and construction work at Happy Church. Individual cost for the trip, including transportation, lodging, and food is $600. To sign up for the trip go the SunRise “events” page and click on the Adult Mission trip graphic.

In our pick verse today, John continues to record the whirlwind of events occurring between the throne room of Heaven and the culmination of earthly existence. This and the following verse are the only times in the entire Bible that the phase “first resurrection” is found. As with most of the difficult passages in Revelation, the interpretation of the “first resurrection” also has various explanations. The biggest question is does this indicate the resurrection “first in time sequence” for human beings” or the “most important” resurrection for human beings”, or even something else? Of course, the scale of understanding would be tipped if this is a spiritual resurrection (amillennialism view) or bodily resurrection (premillennialism view). Coupled with the martyrs mentioned in chapter eleven, this is most probably describing a “special” resurrection that proceeds the general resurrection of the all the dead and living saints at the harvest of the earth.
