Wednesday – February 28th – Revelation 20:6     -----

20:6) Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
NO ONE IS SO OLD AS THE ONE WHO HAS OUTLIVED ENTHUSIASM.*

Welcome to Wednesday! Our mid-week check in is upon us with a great inspiration thought to spur us into both reflection and response. What activities are you enthusiastic about in your life right now? I am sure we all have things from our past that we recall as bringing us great excitement and enthusiasm, but what about today? Maybe a better way of stating it is asking what caused you to jump out of bed this morning filled with anticipation of how God will use you. When we allow the devil to dampen our enthusiasm for life, for relationships, for witnessing, then we need to stiffen up and resist the devil so he will flee from us. Find something this week that fills you with enthusiasm and they seek it with all your heart.

In our pick verse today, John continues his thought about the first resurrection. While their true identity still may be a mystery, John is quick to point out that they are both blessed and holy to have been part of the first resurrection. Even greater is that the second death will have no power over them. Although the first death – their physical death – had overtaken these martyred saints, no further harm can ever come to them. The ultimate reward of these martyrs includes a new priestly function in the heavenly realm. What a perfect picture of severing God directly in His presence in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessings
