Monday – March 18th – Revelation 21:9-10     -----

21:9) Then one of the seven angels who held the seven bowls containing the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come with me! I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”
10) So he took me in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and he showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
PATIENCE IS ACCEPTING A DIFFICULT SITUATION WITHOUT GIVING GOD A DEADLINE FOR REMOVING IT.*

Hello Monday! Yesterday our inspirational thought moved us toward a prayer life that intentionally included words of confession. Today the “thought” gives us another insight into our prayer life. When we pray do we include a timeline for God to answer so that we will be satisfied and/or continue to believe in Him? I am reminded of an old tongue-in-cheek saying about praying. It goes something like this – Oh Lord please give me patience…. and give it to me now! I admit some of my desperate prayers have taken on this demanding demeanor.  I have also discovered that no matter how big of a tantrum I might through in hopes God will hop on my timeline, He still does things in His way – and then after the fact I realize His timing is always perfect. So be it for what I can do on my own.

In our pick verses today John’s final vision moves him to a vantage point for a mountain that is great and high. Just as in his three previous visions, John was caught up “in the spirit”. The Holy Spirit (part of the Triune nature of the Godhead) initiated the vision for the sake of John being able to record these future events. John is being shown the future inheritance of God’s people for all eternity. His guide, one of the seven angles of the seven bowls, points out to him the beauty of the redeemed church preparing itself as the bride of Lamb. This is in stark contrast to one of his earlier visions when he is shown the prostitute attempting to deceive humanity into following the antics of the Antichrist. The promise of the great marriage feast has come to fruition.

Blessings
