SunRise Church Scholarship

in Honor of Troy S. Biernbaum

The SunRise Church Scholarship in Honor of Troy S. Biernbaum has been established to fulfill SunRise Church’s mission to populate the kingdom of heaven by helping each recipient become an educated, responsible Christian citizen. This Financial assistance can be used in the upcoming academic year at an institution of higher education to assist in obtaining a degree in the recipient’s chosen field of interest. SunRise Church believes each scholarship recipient should possess the qualities that Troy Biernbaum has demonstrated: faith, determination, and perseverance.

Applicant Eligibility:

  • Must be affiliated with SunRise Church for a minimum of one (1) year • Must be between 17 and 50 years of age at the time of application 
  • Must have completed or are currently enrolled in a high-school or high school equivalency program 
  • Must be enrolling or planning to enroll in the upcoming academic year to an accredited post-secondary education institution 
  • Must participate in church and community activities 
  • All required documents must be received online and via email  no later than June 30, 2023
*Scholarship does not renew, but recipients are encouraged to reapply each academic year*  

Annual application process:

1. Applicant must complete and submit all required documents to be considered for the scholarship.

_____ at least one signed letter of recommendation (cannot be a family member or member of Scholarship Review Committee)

 2. All applications must be submitted online through the SunRise Church website at www.sunrisefamily.org/college, with supporting documentation emailed to scholarship@sunrisefamily.org

3. The Scholarship Review Committee will review all completed applications.

4. Awards(s) will be announced before July 31, 2024 and distributions will be sent directly to the recipient’s school approximately (2) weeks prior to the beginning of each semester.
