Friday – January 1st – Ephesians 4:13-14
13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,
Happy Friday and Happy New Year! As you read this 2020 is now a part of history. And as you read this 2021 is almost in its complete entirety before you, filled with unlimited possibilities and potential. Our attitude is the flame in which this new year unfold. The Holy Spirit is the fuel which feeds our fire to be passionate in serving the Kingdom of Heaven. I cannot wait to see what we will accomplish together to the glory of God.
Yes, our pick verses for today are another of Paul’s multi-verse sentences. Today brings together yesterday’s listing of the diverse gifts of believers and ties them into the unity needed within the church community. Paul is teaching that when God’s people minister to others, the whole church attains a more perfect unity. This unity is based on the fundamentals of the faith and therefore lifts us above petty disagreements and differing personalities. God’s great goal is that we all shall reach maturity in Christ so that we are no longer confused by false doctrines or personal agendas. What powerful and appropriate verses to set the stage for the beginning of a new year in ministry. I believe that 2021 will be the best year ever in the life of SunRise and the Kingdom of Heaven.
