Saturday – January 9th – Ephesians 4:28-29

28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Welcome to Saturday and your weekend. Worship opportunities abound this weekend both in-building and online. The second weekend of our teaching series “Childlike Faith” is a great opportunity to set aside the weight of this week and just sit under the blessings of God through worship. Inbuilding seating capacity has expanded this week.  You can make your seat reservations for this weekend, for Thursday night worship, or any future date at www.sunrisefamily.org/rsvp. Our online options are on Facebook and the SunRise website at 5pm Saturday, Sunday 8am, 9:30am, and 11am. On-demand options begin on Saturday morning on SunRise Church YouTube, SunRise Vimeo channel, or through the SunRise Church app and TV app. Wow so many options it would be hard to miss worshiping with the SunRise family this weekend.

Our pick verses today from the fourth chapter of Ephesians continues with Paul’s teaching on our positive transformations when we become a follower of Jesus Christ. Paul is emphatic that a life in Christ changes our perspective, our attitude, and our actions. Paul believes a person can transition from being one who takes what is not theirs to a person who becomes productive in society, to eventually a person whose attitude is to joyously produce for the benefit of others in need. Paul also sees transformation happening in what comes out of our mouths (in our day also what comes out of our fingertips). We all know that a corrupt word tears down relationships, while a good word builds up both the speaker and the hearer. As we navigate this weekend let our words represent the grace and love of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessings
