Wednesday – February 3rd – Ephesians 6:15
6:15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Here is our Daily Walk Bible inspiration for today:
IF YOU GO AGAINST THE GRAIN OF GOD’S LAW, YOU GET SPLINTERS!*
Mid-week Wednesday has arrived in this first week of February. Now that we are thirty-four days into 2021, who has in haste written 2020 on checks and other datable items? Fortunately for me I have only written a couple of checks so far this year, so my intentionality was focused on doing it correctly.
Our pick verse today continues unpacking Paul’s illustration of the armor of God as he uses the familiar vision for the Ephesians of that of the Roman solider. As followers of Jesus, we Christians soldiers serve under the direction of the Prince of Peace who willing fills our lives with peace that passes human understanding. Included in this awesome gift is the ultimate peace with God. It was our previous human actions of rebellion that we were separated from God. Our intentional preparation through the Gospel makes us strong to stand firmly on our feet against the enemies of God – and therefore our enemies as well. The only way to have our feet surrounded with this protective armor is to spend time familiarizing ourselves with the good news of the Gospel of Jesus.
Blessings
Pastor Jim
