Friday – February 12th – Philippians 1:6-7

1:6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
7 just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace.

Here is our Daily Walk Bible thought for today:

Hello Friday!  As always it is good to see the arrival of another Friday in our lives. A reminder another work week is almost complete and the weekend is just around the corner. How are you closing out this week? What God-sightings have you experienced this cold and snowy February week? How is the Kingdom of Heaven advancing because of your witness? How has God grown you as a disciple this week?

Paul uses a similar line of questioning in his opening words to the believers in Philippi. Paul asserts his confidence in God’s plan for Christian growth as drawn from God’s investment into our spiritual lives. God who has saved us will complete what was begun in the moment of our salvation. Which prepares us to one day enjoy the final blessings that Jesus has prepared for us on the day of His final return. Even now while he was in prison the Philippians were spiritually present with Paul. There was a bond of Christian love that existed between them that distance nor circumstance could break. They were partakers of the same grace that enabled Paul to endure his chains while still joyously sharing the Gospel. He and the Philippian believers were strongly bonded together through the name of Jesus. As full committed followers of Jesus we also are bonded together with each other and with the great cloud of witnesses who have gone before us. What a might God we serve and a might band of believers we belong to.
