Friday – April 9th – Colossians 1:7-8 ----
1:7 as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf,
8 who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for Friday:
IT IS NOT THE DARKNESS THAT BLOCKS YOUR VISION SO MUCH AS WHAT IS BETWEEN YOU AND GOD.*
Friday has arrived. Yes, another weekend is at our doorstep. I am sure plans are being made to maximize your time, energy, and efforts for a fun-filled and yet recharging weekend. What is your favorite thing to do on an April weekend? What is on event calendars now that were not possible a year ago? How has your circle of friends expanded over the last few months? Worship at SunRise is one of the great ways to easy back into reconnecting with old friends and meeting new friends.
In our pick verses today, Paul concludes his section on the Colossians’ growing faith. We learn today that Epaphras was a leader within the Colossian church and probably one of the founders of this Christian community. Epaphras had traveled to Ephesus to hear Paul preach some five years earlier and then carried the gospel message back to family and friends in Colosse. Because Epaphras was stirred by Paul’s message of Jesus a Christian community was established and lives were transformed. We do not need to be high profile evangelists to make a difference in the lives of others. Our simple witness of how Jesus touched our lives can be the greatest message ever preached. Who knows, maybe God is preparing you to share with a person who in turn makes disciples who make disciples. Our 2021 emphasis for personal spiritual growth has the potential to benefit both self and the world. All it takes is a commitment on our part.
Blessing
