Tuesday – May 11th – Colossians 3:16-17     ---

3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Here is Tuesday’s inspirational thought from the Daily Walk Bible:
       MAN PROPOSES, GOD DISPOSES.*

Happy Tuesday to you! In case you are curious about the inspirational thought for today, the Daily Walk Bible reading for the next few days focuses on the Old Testament story of Esther.  A secondary character in the book is best noted for his constant planning to create ways to make a name for himself. Thus, the inspirational thought is there to remind us no matter how much we plan, unless it is ordained by the Lord we plan in vain. If you need a little extra reading homework this week – spend a few hours reading the book of Esther, it will be time well spent.

In our pick verses today, Paul closes out this section on our being encouraged to put on a Christlikeness in our daily lives. His instructions in these verses include our fully immersion into the word of Christ, which for us is the entirety of the Gospel message. We must cause it to dwell constantly in our hearts so that we can grow more and more like Jesus. In this growing, we need to give and receive help by teaching, encouraging, and when necessary, admonishing one another in the context of spiritual growth. We are called to act as a follower of Jesus in both word and deed. When thoughts of Jesus are first and foremost in our minds, what then flows from us is solidly grounded in the attitude of God’s love for others.

Blessings
