Thursday – September 9th – 1 Timothy 3:14-16     -----

3:14 These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly;
15 but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
     DO ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN, IN ALL THE WAYS YOU CAN, TO ALL THE PEOPLE YOU CAN, AS LONG AS YOU CAN.*

     Happy Thursday to you!!  I am blessed and excited about today. My online church-wide study group has its first “get-to-know-you” meeting tonight. Since we are online, we have an unlimited abundance of space for people to join us for the study. I am equally excited about our topic – “Awakening”. We will be seeking for the Holy Spirit to move in and through us to launch a revival fire within the SunRise family. I am even more excited to see what God has in mind for an “awakened” SunRise in the shadow of our steeple and in the shadows of your mailboxes.  If you are not already part of a SunRise group, please consider joining me tonight. You can officially register at www.sunrisefamily.org/study, just  choose the Thursday online group, or you can email me directly – jdblue@sunrisefamily.org - for the zoom link. Hope you will chose to be part of this powerful awakening of SunRise.

    In our pick verses today, Paul begins a new section of teaching as he closes out this third chapter of 1 Timothy. Today Paul will address a short list of truths of the Christian faith. The church in verse fifteen is identified as the people of God gathered for corporate worship. The church in this sense is God’s dwelling with and among the people of God. Christians are to first belong to this special household of God’s people. Many Biblical scholars view verse sixteen as possibly one of the earliest creeds drawn from the words of an early hymn of the church. In this verse Paul affirms the humanity and divinity of Jesus as part of God’s plan for the salvation of humanity. By so doing he reveals the heart of the Good News. It would be greatly beneficial for all believers to incorporate this verse first into their hearts and then into their words of witness when asked “who is Jesus?”.

Blessings
