2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel,
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
FAITH NEVER KNOWS WHERE IT IS BEING LED, BUT IT LOVES AND KNOWS THE ONE WHO IS LEADING.*
Good Tuesday to you! What a great day to be alive and in service to the Lord. Our inspirational thought today is once again one of those fundamental foundations of a life fully committed to follow Jesus. One reality of the fallen nature of humanity is that we have a desire to be in charge and in control of our lives – which was exactly the very first temptation Satan used against Adam and Eve. Faith requires us to step out of the way and follow God into the unknown of each next step. Faith is based on trusting that God will always have our best interest at heart. Faith is accepting that that God knows what we don’t need to know. The old hymn states it appropriately – “Where He leads me, I will follow”. Where is God leading you today?
In our pick verses for today Paul strikes at the core of the false teachings prevalent in the early church. At the heart of the false teachings is an incorrect view of the nature of Jesus. In Timothy’s Day many asserted that Jesus was divine but not human – God not man. This was borrowed from the influence of Greek mythology wherein their gods would routinely visit humanity. Today we often hear that Jesus was only human and not divine – man but not God. This modern-day theory attempts to eliminate the accountability that comes with Jesus’ teachings and his sacrificial death on the cross. Either of these misrepresentations of orthodoxy theology destroys the power of the Good News. Jesus has taken our sins on himself and has reconciled us to God. In today’s verse Paul firmly states that Jesus is fully man and fully God. The fully divine/fully human understand of Jesus is a non-negotiable doctrine of the Christian faith.
Blessings
