Sunday – November 7th – 2 Timothy 4:1-2      -----

4:1) I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
2) Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
DO NOT EXPECT GOD TO USE YOU AS A LIGHTHOUSE SOMEWHERE ELSE IF GOD CANNOT USE YOU AS A CANDLE RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE.*

Hello Sunday!  What a great day to exercise our faith by spending time worshiping God! A great message from Joshua 24 at SunRise today to conclude our 2022 Commitment series. Join online or inbuilding to give God the glory for your existence and your salvation. Our inspirational thought for today is spot on in connecting with our scripture verses from 2 Timothy. If we are always thinking “someday” when it comes to our willingness to witness than we will always be waiting for the perfect moment to arrive. If I have learned anything about sharing my faith, I need to do it where God has planted me and not where I hope to be someday. With the number of Christians in the US becoming a minority of the population there will always be someone within eyesight that needs to hear the Good News of the Gospel. Take a moment to look around today and let God speak through you wherever you are.

As we begin this final chapter of this second letter to the young preacher Timothy, Paul focuses on the role of all believers in advancing the faith of Jesus. Timothy has been given a specific calling as the leader of the church in Ephesus. Paul reminds Timothy that every Christian will be held accountable by Jesus based on our personal obedience and our fulfillment of the specific tasks assigned to us as professing believers. Above all else a Christian is to preach (and live) the gospel not only when it is convenient but even when it is not convenient. Believers are to work with those in error, to rebuke those going astray, and to encourage everyone. We must also be patient with people who are slow or resistant to respond and keep on carefully teaching the truth. We should avoid the temptation to adjust the truth in order to make the gospel more appealing to those who dislike the words and wisdom of God.

Blessings
  Pastor Jim
