Sunday – November 28th – Titus 2:13-14     -----

2:13) looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
14) who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

The Daily Walk Bible Inspirational thought for today:
A CHRISTIAN IS ONE WHO DOES NOT HAVE TO CONSULT A BANK BOOK TO SEE HOW WEALTHY HE OR SHE REALLY IS.*

Happy Sunday to you! What a great day the Lord has made for us to spend time in worship and witness today. Our inspirational thought gives us an opportunity to take inventory of the priorities of our life. If we are focused on growing in our discipleship path and in serving others than we are on track to have wealthy beyond worldly comparison. We are rich when we count the Lord as our savior and others as our co-workers in the faith. As you pause to worship God today, in what account do you have your greatest investments?

In our pick verses today, Paul continues to teach on God’s grace and our salvation. Paul uses the phrase “glorious appearing” to indicate the second coming of Jesus at the end of the ages. This is the blessed hope of the church and of every believer. God’s ultimate purpose is to redeem us from the power of sin and to purify us from and sinful tendency that would prevent us from doing God’s work. This purification occurs as we consecrate ourselves to do only what pleases God. As the redeemed we are God’s special people both now and in eternity.  How does it feel to be special to God?

Blessings
  Pastor Jim
