Sunday – December 5th – Titus 3:10-11 -----
3:10) Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition,
11) knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned.

Hello Sunday! Today is the second Sunday in the season of Advent and the second weekend of our “Expect the Unexpected” series. Today’s inspirational thought is a powerful reminder of one of the primary roles that comes with being a follower of Jesus. I must admit that for years I saw my connection to Jesus as being something that guaranteed me an entrance ticket to Heaven. I didn’t know, or maybe didn’t care, that my relationship with Christ was more than Him and me, but it also included my looking around to invite others to know Him as well. Who might you know that needs to hear about Jesus? If you know Jesus, then you are in the business of making disciples.
In our pick verses today, Paul concludes this section of instructions on being a faithful and faith-filled follower of Jesus. Paul warns Titus to instruct the believers to avoid those who cause dissension or creates factions that accept false teachings. The Church is to take the initiative in graciously dealing with this type of person, but if they continue to be disruptive within the body of the church then, as a last resort, they are to be removed from the congregation. Paul states that there will be some who choose to remain resistant to the churches attempts at correction. Because they continue to hold onto their sinful ways they have brought about their own self-condemnation. Their stubborn refusal to listen to the counsel of the scriptures closes the door to any chance for correction. These verses while tough to read remind me that every person has the power to make their own choices and then to live with the consequences of those choices.
