Saturday – December 25th – Hebrews 1:8-9 -----
1:8) But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.
9) You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions."
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
JESUS IS GOD SPELLING HIMSELF OUT IN LANGUAGE THE WORLD CAN UNDERSTAND.*
Merry Christmas!! Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus the savior of the world. May you and all your family enjoy today and be able to celebrate the gift of eternal life we receive when we become believers and followers of Him.
Today our pick verses continue the theme of Jesus coming to earth as God in the flesh, as being the Son of God who is both fully human and fully divine. The author of Hebrews spends the rest of this chapter quoting from various Psalms as to the prophecy of the Messiah and His relationship with God. The Psalms were mostly written by King David with a handful by some of his close contemporaries. Regardless of the actual author these beloved words were written over a thousand years before the birth of Jesus. Today’s verses highlight Psalm 46:6-7 and ascribes to Jesus a throne fit for the ruler of all that exists. His kingdom will last forever and ever without end. The ruler on this throne will be a lover of all that is righteous and will hate all that is evil. As we celebrate the birth of this ultimate, supreme, and endless ruler we also celebrate that He still loves righteousness and still hates evil. May our lives today and all days reflect a life and lifestyle that is grounded in God’s righteousness.
Blessings
