Wednesday – February 2nd – Hebrews 6:19-20     -----

6:19) This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
20) where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
SIN IS SO BIG THAT IT TAKES A CHRIST WITH A CROSS TO MEASURE IT.*

Hello Wednesday and hello ground hog day. As I write this blog the early indications are that the ground hog will potentially need to be extricated from his hole in the ground by a backhoe removing ice and snow just to tell us that there will be no shadows to see. After the next few days, we will be more than ready to rejoice that there will not be six more weeks of winter. To me what is much more important than the impact a shadowless ground hog makes is the impact our inspirational thought has on our daily actions. The simplicity of the inspirational statement is found in the very first word – sin. I am reminded in this singular non-plural word that sin; all sin is equal in God’s eyes. There is no ranking of sin as some being viewed as worse than others by God. While we on earth want to make one sin to be worse than another, and yes there can be bad repercussions to other humans depending on the sin, to God all sin is equally offensive by the time it reaches the throne of Heaven. Today my goal is to stop pointing fingers at other people’s sin and take my sin to God to deal with instead.

In our pick verses today, we close out chapter six of Hebrews and our current topic that our hope in Christ is sure and steadfast. Our hope of entry into God’s presence is an anchor for the soul. Is its assured because Jesus our High Priest has already entered into the glory of God. As our forerunner, Jesus has made the way for us by His death, resurrection, and accession into Heaven. Jesus has removed the veil of separation to gain us full access to the most Holy Place of God. We can celebrate this great love God has for us that our sin can be forgiven, and we can be in God’s presence for all eternity.
Blessing
