Friday – March 4th – Hebrews 9:25-26     -----

9:25) not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another--
26) He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WHEN WE ARE TRULY WITNESSING, WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT OURSELVES BUT ABOUT CHRIST.*

Happy Friday to you! You have arrived at another last day of the week and my prayer is that it has been a blessed week for you. Our inspirational thought for today is very simple and straightforward, yet harder in application than we might think. As followers of Jesus, we routinely sing the songs of faith that speak to the love of God and the Good News of Jesus. As followers of Jesus, we study the Bible and commit scripture to memory. As followers of Jesus our life is filled with spiritual disciplines including time to talk to God in prayer. But when it comes to witnessing how much do we really know about Jesus that is worthy to share? Certainly, our faith story includes telling the difference Jesus has made in our individual lives, but as our inspirational thought reminds us that the most fruitful witness is when we are bragging on who and what Jesus is for all humanity. When God gives you a chance today, or this weekend, – brag on Jesus like he was your favorite grandchild.

In our pick verses for today the author of Hebrews is focusing on God’s final and perfect answer for the forgiveness of sin. Jesus’ sacrifice is perfect in the sense that He offered Himself, not the blood of another, to wipe clean our sinful slate. His sacrifice brought an end to the Old Testament era as it ushered in the new covenant from God. Jesus’ sacrifice was the turning point in human history by making access to God available to all based on individual faith and not on the collective actions of a corporate nation. Jesus’ sacrifice “put away sin”, completely overcoming the power and guilt that sin holds over us. Because of the perfect nature of Jesus’ actions, there was no need to repeat His sacrifice on an annual basis like that required of the High Priest on the Day of Atonement. It was truly a once and for all event for humanity. And that my friends is the greatest thing to share about Jesus when the opportunity to witness comes our way.

Blessings
