Monday – March 7th – Hebrews 10:2-4 -----
10:2) For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.
3) But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.
4) For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
BE CAREFUL IF YOU THINK YOU ARE LEADING PEOPLE— THEY MAY BE CHASING YOU.*
Welcome to Monday at SunRise and to wherever your mailbox might be located. This new week is truly an awesome gift from God. We have the opportunity to influence and encourage others. We have the opportunity to be a positive example as a follower of Jesus that points others toward the Kingdom of Heaven. As we think about the week ahead of us the inspirational thought might be a factor in the choices we make and the actions we carry out. One cannot underestimate the importance of our words and actions, as we never know who is observing how we manage life and life’s challenges. Live today as one who belongs to God and one who represents the Good News message of Jesus.
In our pick verses today the author of Hebrews continues to expand on the limits of the rituals and sacrifices performed before Jesus’ time. If the worshipers back then had actually been cleansed from a consciousness of sin, they would not have needed to come back again. Instead of experiencing cleansing of heart, mind, and soul, they were instead reminded annually of their sins. The limitations of their animal sacrifices reminded them of their sinful nature over and over again. Everything changed for the better when Jesus became the final and perfect sacrifice to remove the stain of sin. Yes, as believers we will not reach a sinless life on earth, but we know that God is working in us to remove the guilt of our sin. The Good News we share with others is that regardless of their background or sin history, God is always willing to extend grace and forgiveness.
Blessings
