Sunday – April 3rd – Hebrews 11:20-22     -----

11:20) By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21) By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.
22) By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE HIGHEST REWARD FOR A PERSON’S TOIL IS NOT WHAT HE OR SHE GETS FOR IT BUT RATHER WHAT HE OR SHE BECOMES BY IT.*

Wonderful, amazing, and blessed Sunday to you! This is the fifth Sunday in the season of Lent and our journey to the empty tomb. At SunRise, both in building and online, we continue to explore the moments in the Bible when folks uttered the phrase “let us go back to Egypt”. Today we fast-forward nearly fourteen hundred years from the wilderness wandering of the Hebrews to experience those who were walking in the shadow of Jesus. Yes my friends, even in Jesus’ times there were those who came to a difficult spot in their journey and felt the best option was to go back to the good ole days of yesteryear. While they may not have actually said Egypt was their preferred destination, nonetheless the challenges of going forward made them long for the past. Join us today to see how we can combat the tactics of the evil one who desires for us to give and retreat from doing God’s work for the kingdom.

In our pick verses today the author of Hebrews continues his listing of the heroes of the faith from the Old Testament. In three short summary verses the faith of Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph is demonstrated by their actions. They looked uncompromisingly beyond their own deaths toward things promised by God that were yet to happen in their lifetime. These men were not overly remarkable in their life, they certainly were not perfect. They were mere humans who, if you read their biblical stories, all had issues and were not averse to falling into sinful actions. But each of these men were committed to having faith and trust in God, even at times when God’s promises seemed impossible or improbably. It can be very easy to trust God when things are going well in our lives, the real test is trusting when our world seems to be falling apart. How is it with your life journey today?

Blessings
