A PERSON BECOMES WISE BY OBSERVING WHAT HAPPENS WHEN HE OR SHE ISN’T.*
Welcome to Wednesday my blog reading friends. Our inspirational thought today contains a great wealthy of wisdom for all who read and then puts this into action. We were watching a show last night were a mentor relayed very similar advice to a young student. Her wisdom was steeped in the very simple advice that we can learn more when we are listening then when we are talking. I have often been reminded that this is why God created us with two eyes, two ears, and only one mouth. God’s plan of creation intends to keep in proportion the proper use of those three parts of who we are. At the halfway mark of this week my focus will now be on observing and listening more and talking less.
In our pick verse today the author of the “faith” chapter in Hebrews highlights Moses’ actions to remove himself from the luxury of the Egyptian palace and instead insert himself in the trenches of Hebrew leadership. Moses chose freely of his own accord to place his trust in God as he made this life transition. He triumphed because “he looked to the reward” that would eventually be brought to humanity by Jesus. He was able to preserve and endure each day by trusting in the works of an otherwise invisible God. Yet because of his superior faith, the Old Testament also tells of Moses’ ongoing face-to-face meetings with God. Such intimate communication is now the privilege of every Christian because Jesus is our High Priest who has opened the way for us to approach the God. We live in the assurance that God is always ready to hear our prayers and answer within His perfect wisdom and His ultimate plan for your life. Today would be a great day to let God know what is on your mind.
