The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today
IT IS NOT THE DARKNESS THAT BLOCKS YOUR VISION SO MUCH AS WHAT IS BETWEEN YOU AND GOD.*

Hello Saturday! Our inspirational thought today is one of those stop-and-think statements. To fully understand and appreciate the wisdom of these words it may require a sit-and-soak approach. When I feel the furthest from God, when I feel like God has abandoned me, when we feel like I am going it alone – I eventually come to the realization that I have moved from God’s presence and not the other way around. When I honestly inventory my disconnected from God moments, I discover that I have unknowingly built walls or constructed roadblocks along my spiritual journey. I have allowed the temptations from the evil one to gain a foothold in my thinking and draw me away from where God is waiting for me . I have grown lukewarm in my pursuit of the Kingdom of Heaven, and lukewarm is so slightly off base that I fall to notice that I am the one jeopardizing my relationship with God. Yet God is patient with me and continues to reach out and call be back home. May all of us find time today to remove any personal obstacles keeping us from fully experiencing God.

In our pick verse today, we have fast-forwarded forty years in the Hebrews’ story from yesterday’s crossing the Red Sea. The Hebrews experienced four decades of less than faithful connection to God. Their time wandering in the wilderness instead of marching into the promised land was the direct result of a faithless belief that God could not deliver them into the land promised to Abraham some five hundred years earlier. A whole new generation of Hebrews were now the ones God led through the dry ground of the Jordan River and then circled the fortified walls Jericho for seven days. God used the faith of the now grown children of former brickmaking slaves to capture one of the strongest cities in the promised land. Imagine how this same God can use you today to populating the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessings
