Wednesday – April 27th – Hebrews 12:21-22     -----

12:21)  And so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, "I am exceedingly afraid and trembling.")
22)  But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WHEN YOU SEE A WORTHY PERSON, EMULATE HIM OR HER; WHEN YOU SEE AN UNWORTHY PERSON, EXAMINE YOURSELF.*

A warm Wednesday welcome to you! What is the good word for this mid-week check in? Well, our inspirational thought leaves little doubt that every detail of our life is being constantly viewed by others. All of us have folks in our lives who affect and influence our words, our actions, and our traits. We might find ourselves standing a certain way or speaking in a distinguishable cadence only to realize we have copied it from someone else. Likewise, our every action is being observed by others with the same copy-what-they-see result. How would you grade out if you could observe your own actions, reactions, and verbal responses for just one day? Would you be one who gathers people into the Kingdom of Heaven or be one whose life is in conflict with the word and actions of Jesus?

In our pick verses today the author of Hebrews continues to challenge us to pursue a life of spiritual holiness. Over the last few days, he has drawn from what would be very familiar characters in Jewish religious history to make his point that God used Jesus to forever change His relationship with humanity. Although Moses was the mediator of the old covenant, even he was afraid in the presence of God. In this new covenant God has moved from behind the temple curtain to be present with His people. In this new covenant a human mediator is no longer required because Jesus has brought us into the very throne room of God and becomes our divine mediator with and through the work of the Holy Spirit. In other words, we now have, with no fear involved, God’s full and complete attention while here on earth. And God has in turn prepared for us an eternal home in the presence of the angels and saints that awaits our entry into Heaven.

Blessings
