Saturday – April 30th – Hebrews 12:25-27     -----

12:25)   See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,
26)whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven."
27) Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
BETTER TO MASTER ONE MOUNTAIN THAN A THOUSAND FOOTHILLS.*
Happy Saturday to you!  The arrival of the weekend signals that the opportunity for gathered worship time is upon us. Our second weekend of the 3:16 Disciple series is ready for reveal. Last week’s introduction to the series created lots of great conversation and placed many people squarely in their Bibles. This series is focusing on four passages from the Bible where the central verse is 3:16. Of course we began last week with the most famous of all – John 3:16. Yet there are lots of other 3:16 verses in scripture that contain a powerful message from God. As an added bonus we are also including a separate 3:16 verse as our weekly memory verse. So, by series end you will have the opportunity to add 8 new verses of scripture to your knowledge and hopeful a renewed passion to spend more time discovering the uniqueness and joy of God’s holy word.

In our pick verses today the author of Hebrews introduces a new topic for our consideration – the importance of obeying God’s voice. For clarity purposes folks in the first century were not afforded the opportunity to audibly hear the actual voice of God. Just like now the voice of God is found in and through the words of scripture. The verses under consideration for today and tomorrow stand as a warning to all Christians who might be tempted to turn away, or drift away, from following Jesus. In our previous days’ verses, we were enlightened to the gracious privileges we receive through our relationship with Jesus. In light of these blessing, it will be much worse for us if we disobey the warning of God spoken through Jesus and in the words of scripture, than it was for Israel to refuse the warnings given to them at Mt. Sinai. If we set our hope in the things of this world we will be utterly and ultimately disappointed in where/what/who we have placed our trust.

Blessings
