Thursday – May 5th – Hebrews 13:7     -----

13:7) Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
PRAYER CAN DO ANYTHING GOD CAN DO.*

Good Thursday to you!  Our inspirational thought today is one of those “hmmmm” moments when first reading. After a little time for reflection, I realized the power that is packed within this short sentence. Prayer is God’s love language. Prayer is what God created to communicate with each of us. Prayer becomes our opportunity to speak and listen (note that we have two ears and only one mouth) to the one who loves us unconditionally. What this inspirational thought does not say is that prayer replaces, contradicts, or overrides God. When we pray, we are connected to God and as such God responds in answering every prayer in a way that brings glory, honor, and praise to His name. Sometimes we like God’s answers and sometimes we question God’s answers, but every time we should be in awe of God’s way to perfectly answer prayers.

In our pick verse today, we begin a new section in this last chapter of the book of Hebrews that focuses on instructions for daily living as a follower of Jesus. This unnamed group of leaders who ruled over the readers of Hebrews may well be those early Christian leaders who had died. Perhaps they were those who had first “spoken the word of the Lord” to these early believers. The promised eternal destiny of the saints of the faith whom we have known in our own lives should inspire us to endure in our personal faith. Passing along faith is one of the primary responsibilities of every Christian. Every one of us has someone in our life who looks to us to set the bar for responsible faith in action. We also have an untold number of people who observe our actions, reactions, and our language and then base their understanding of faithfully following Jesus from what they see. An old saying states that for some folks the first Bible, and sometimes only Bible, they will ever read is what they see in our life. What will a person see about Jesus in your life today?

Blessings
