Sunday – May 15th – Hebrews 13:22     -----

13:22)    And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
TO KNOW GOD’S WILL IS LIFE’S GREATEST TREASURE; TO DO GOD’S WILL IS LIFE’S GREATEST PLEASURE.*

Sunday, Sunday you have arrived once again for us to be blessed and to enjoy as we take time to focus on the God who created us in our mother’s womb. Our inspirational thought for today is a perfect read for a Sunday. As a follower of Jesus our lives are dedicated to doing God’s will each and every day of our life. Reading scripture, praying, and being in discipleship discussions will help us discover what God’s will is for our life. However, the more important aspect of discipleship is moving from knowledge to action. Retention of God’s will without execution of God’s will is the breeding ground for a stagnate and unfilled life. Potential remains potential until it is converted into action. Sitting on the bench or standing on the sidelines can leave a feeling of emptiness, but when we get into the game – no matter our position – we now become a welcomed participant. What steps do you need to take today to be a “doer” of God’s will and not just a “knower” of God’s will?

Our pick verse today falls into the category of a final encouragement from the author of the book of Hebrews. The purpose of this book, and every book of the Bible, is to be more than words read and remembered. The author desires that each person who reads this book discovers that each page is filled with words of encouragement and is ultimately intended to move us into a deeper faith in God. Sometimes the words of the Bible will be just the perfect thing we need to hear for encouragement. Other times the words of scripture may challenge us, correct us, or put us in our place. Our natural human tendency (plus the meddling of the devil) is to like the ones that we like and reject the ones that point out our shortcomings. The Bible was written for us, and we need to read the Bible with the openness of being a better disciple for it.

Blessing
