1) My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WHERE THE BENEFITS RECEIVED ARE INFINITE, THE PRAISES CANNOT BE TOO EXTRAVAGANT.*
A very blessed Sunday to you my scripture reading friends. There is certainly something very refreshing to be surrounded by a group of believers as we journey together in deepening our knowledge of God’s word and in strengthening our commitment to serve the Kingdom of Heaven. What a great inspirational thought for us as we find time today to worship God and give thanks for all in which we have been blessed. As you find time and place today to participate in worship may your praise be filled with the assurance that we can not outgive the Lord. As today’s thought states, God’s blessings are infinite, and we should make very attempt to raise to the level of our praise out of humble appreciation. Make a little extra joyful noise wherever you are in worship today. If you are in-building at SunRise I will know the reason for the extra level of your joy, and it will bring a sweet smile to my face.
Today in our reading from the New Testament book of James we begin a new chapter and a new thirteen verse topic – “love prevents partiality”. James’ challenge is purposefully directed at every believer of any generation throughout history. He is quick to factor out the excuses made for geography, culture, class, or century in his practical wisdom of wisdom. Since Jesus did not show favoritism to any one person over another person, therefore as committed followers of Jesus we should refrain from showing partiality to anyone at any time under any circumstances. How might we best serve others on behalf of Jesus this week wherein we show (or harbor) no partiality toward anyone?
