Monday – August 22nd – 1 Peter 1:10-11     -----

10) This salvation was something even the prophets wanted to know more about when they prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you.
11) They wondered what time or situation the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ’s suffering and his great glory afterward.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
IF YOU DON’T CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN, YOU CAN’T SEE THE VIEW.*

Namaste Monday!  The international greetings will gradually be getting a little harder each day. Remember to send me you answer for where in the world is SunRise. Our inspirational thought for today is perfect to kick off a new week of Kingdom adventures and opportunities. As an avid hiker I can easily relate to the point of this thought. Many times, I have glanced upward at the trail in front of me and attempt to calculate both distance and grade as I ascend. Most of the time I use these calculations to convince myself that I can make it to the top, and at other times they can sprinkle in an unhealthy dose of doubt. Admittedly there are times when I focus way too much on the trail that I miss the beauty of God’s creation all around me. But the joy of finally reaching the top, accompanied by the grandeur of the vista before me, wipes out any memory of the labored breathing created by the steep path behind me. Much is the same reality with our spiritual journey, the blessings of mountain top experiences make the work required to get there well worth the effort. Have a blessed and great week serving God.

In our pick verses today, we are reminded that the whole of the New Testament bears witness that even the Old Testament prophets looked forward to what the Messiah would bring to those they would not live to see. The message of the prophets was tied so closely to the future coming of Christ that the Holy Spirit inspired them to call God’s promise “the Spirit of Christ”. These prophets not only foretold the coming of Jesus, but they were also inspired to speak of His suffering, death, resurrection, ascension into glory, and His second coming. All these things, compete and accurate, undeniably point to God’s promise of salvation available to us through Jesus Christ.

Blessings

It made me think of Nambe ware which is found up near Santa Fe (NM). Or it makes me think of yoga class on a cruise ship somewhere in tropical waters…
