Friday – August 26th – 1 Peter 1:15-16 -----
15) But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.
16) For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GOD LOVES EACH OF US AS IF THERE WERE ONLY ONE OF US.*
Hej Friday! Yes, the end of the week is here as well as the end of the first week of our international greetings. I hope you feel like you have accomplished all of your weekly “to do” items and even had time to share with others about the mighty God you serve. Our inspirational thought for today certainly lives up to its title. How comforting and encouraging to know that God loves us, but then God takes it up a notch and loves us like we are the only person in existence. This is certainly the opposite message than we hear from the devil. We hear from him that we are unlovable, unappreciated, and unnoticed by others. And if that is all we hear then it doesn’t take long for us to believe it. God’s love for us is unconditional – that means without strings, or footnotes, or qualifications. I needed to hear that today, and well every day!
In our pick verses today, Peter emphatically reminds us that we are to live our lives like we are the prize possession of the God who created all that exists. God calls us to be holy in our every thought, word, and deed. We are to live every-second of our lives as representatives of the Kingdom of Heaven. We are a visible to the world reflection of the God who died on the cross for us. Keep all of this in mind because God chose you and that choosing cannot be evaded. God’s character and His call for us to be like Him make holiness both an obligation and achievable. What might be keeping you from living into the holiness God desires in your life?
Blessings
