Monday – August 29th – 1 Peter 1:20-21     -----

20) God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but now in these last days he has been revealed for your sake.
21) Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GOD GRANTS WITH EACH BURDEN THE STRENGTH TO BEAR IT— SELDOM MORE, NEVER LESS.*

Witam Monday! Our international greetings will finish up this week with some of the harder and less familiar greetings from around the world. Our inspirational thought is perfect as we kick off this new week. The word that jumps out to me is “strength”. Yes, God will absolutely grant us the strength we need for every challenge in life, but there is also on our part a need to not lose strength as we go through life. When we don’t work a muscle, it gradually becomes weak and then eventually ceases to function. Spiritual muscles are much the same way, they are strengthened as we draw closer to God. Spiritual disciplines keep us in shape spiritually and prepare us for those moments when burdens come. I wish it were as easy as God dropping unbelievable strength on us when we need it most. Life tells me it is a cooperate effort on both God’s side and mine.

In our pick verses today, Peter continues sharing the steps on our path to holiness. The opportunity to be holy is first offered to us through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. God’s ultimate will is to offer salvation to all people through the saving graces of Jesus. This purpose was not a spur of the moment reaction by God but was established before the foundation of the world was ever set. The time from Jesus’ birth until his second coming should be considered by every generation as “these last days”. We should always live as if this is the last moment in history and at the same time giving thanks for the time we have to share the gospel with others. God’s message is based on the reality that He began and completed His plan of salvation, through which rests our faith and our hope of sharing in the resurrection.

Blessings
