1) So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD RESULTS IN A LOVE OF GOD.*

nǐ hǎo Friday! Today brings to a close our international greetings game. Hope you enjoyed a little something different to break up the typically three or four greeting I have used over the last four years. Friday also signals the end of another week. I do hope you have had a productive week for the Lord in wherever you may spent time this week. May the folks we encounter always find in us the peace displayed by Jesus. Our inspirational thought today helps us remember that for our lives are to be peace filled.  And if the love of God is to freely pour out of us, we must first have in us the knowledge of who God is and understand the difference God makes in our lives. Once we possess this knowledge then we will be a beacon of God’s hope to an otherwise dark world.

In our pick verse today, we begin Peter’s second chapter in his first epistle. In this verse Peter transitions from his previous subject of focusing on being spiritually holy in spite of any trials or struggles we may face in life, to a new focus of growing in spiritual maturity.  We are to rid ourselves of any unacceptable behavior that might prevent our faith to grow or inhibit our witness. We are to avoid actions stemming from having ill will toward others, as well as using our words to tear others down. The sins listed in this verse all contradict God’s command to “love one another fervently with a pure heart” (1:22). I know I need to focus on being better at resisting these sin-filled temptations when opportunity presents itself.

Blessings
